History in the making:
Chip Ward, Mike Clark and Pat Downey met over lunch in early 1999 and decided we needed a Georgia chapter of RCI (Currently IIBEC). At that time the only active RCI chapter was in Ontario, Canada.
An earlier Florida chapter had become inactive, so it is our belief that the Georgia Chapter is the oldest continuous US chapter. Pat was elected the first President for Georgia in 1999 and was able to set the procedures for chapter operations in place.
He had previously been President of the Atlanta CSI chapter. CSI had over 50 years of chapter operations and the Atlanta Chapter had over 400 members. We successfully co-opted rules and procedures, incorporating them into RCI (Currently IIBEC).
